Android 14 Release Date: Here’s When You’ll Get It

After two developer previews and over 13 Beta updates on Pixel devices, Google has finally a sweet upsidedown cake experience with stable Android 14. While the same doesn’t bring ground-breaking features and major UI changes that Android 12 introduced, it does feature some really nice quality-of-life improvements and minor features that should enhance the overall user experience. We’ve covered all the features in ourAndroid 14 featuresarticle.

If you have an Android from a different manufacturer, you may want to look at ourAndroid 14 compatible devices listwhere we’ve compiled a list of all OEMs and their devices that may receive the Android 14 update in the future.

As for the release date, all Pixel devices starting from Pixel 4a 5G received the Android 14 update on October 4, the same day as thePixel 8 series launch. Android 14 was originally supposed to release on September 4 but the same was delayed to next month. If you’ve lost track of recent Pixels, here’s a list of the devices that’ll get the update.

All devices in the Pixel portfolio got the update on the same day. As for other OEMs like OnePlus and Samsung which had planned the release in the same month as Google, they have delayed the launch, and as of writing this, are briefly testing their versions of Android 14 Beta which are almost ready to start seeding to Stable channels.

Either way, there are still a few features from the current latest Android 14 QPR 1 Beta 2 that are yet to make their way to the stable version of Android 14. Hence, if you’re impatient and want to check them out, you can do so by enrolling yourPixel into the Beta program. That said, if you don’t want to encounter hidden bugs, it might be a wise decision to wait for the December Feature Drop which will bring the said Android 14 Beta features to the stable Android 14.
