Apple Announces ‘Scary Fast’ Event; M3 MacBooks Expected

Just when we thought Apple was done with its 2023 launches, the announcement of its upcoming ‘Scary Fast’ event came. The event is scheduled for next week and is said to focus on the arrival of the new MacBooks with the new M3 chip. Here’s what to expect.

Apple’s Upcoming Event Expectations

Apple will host its ‘Scary Fast‘ event onOctober 30, right in time for Halloween. This will take place at 8 pm ET. This will be October 31, 5:30 am IST, a rather odd time for an Apple event! While this announcement doesn’t include anything about what we will see, it becomes obvious that the Cupertino tech major will introduce the new M3 MacBooks given that this year’s iPhones have already been announced.

For those who don’t know, a past report hassuggestedthat Apple will skip launching new MacBooks this year and will instead go for an early 2024 timeline. But the October event is happening after all, which was alsotippeda couple of days ago. This comes after the new Apple Pencil with the USB Type-C port wasannouncedlast week.

As for what to expect, there will most likely be theM3 chip, including, the standard version, the M3 Pro, and the M3 Max. There could also be a M3 Ultra chip. These have been testing for a while now (M3 with theMac mini) and theM3 Prochip) and are slated to support up to 28 CPU and 80 GPU cores and could be based on TSMC’s 3nm process, much like the latest A17 Pro Bionic chipset.

There could be a new M3 MacBook Air and based on Ming-Chi Kuo’s latest predictions, anM3-powered MacBook Procould also see the light of the day. There’s still no word on whether it will be the 14-inch and 16-inch models or the slightly lowered-down 13-inch model.I believe M3 series MacBook Pro will be Oct 30th media event’s focus. Apple hasn’t refreshed the 24-inch iMacsince 2021, so, expecting one wouldn’t be that bad. Since these are just rumors, it remains to be what Apple has up its sleeves.
