In settimanaGoogleha svelato la nuova versione del router mesh Google Wifi, che oltre ad avere un design rinnovato costerà anche meno del suo predecessore.
Sulsito Google, il prezzo dell’unità WiFi singola ammonta a 99€, mentre il pacchetto da tre unità viene proposto a 199€, quasi 60€ in meno rispetto ai 259€ richiesti per acquistare il modello precedente.
Entrambe le generazioni di router Google Wifi hanno un prezzo inferiore rispetto a Google Nest Wifi, il dispositivo smart home premium dell’azienda che viene venduto a partire da 159€.
Detto questo, Google Wifi è da anni uno dei nostri router mesh preferiti, e non siamo sorpresi del fatto che Google abbia lanciato la nuova iterazione sul mercato Europeo.

Stando a quanto afferma un rappresentante dell’azienda il router Google Wifi Gen 2 garantisce “una migliore esperienza di lavoro da casa [e] facilita le vostre attività grazie al supporto perMicrosoftTeams, Slack, Webex, GoToMeeting.”
Il rappresentante ha inoltre sottolineato le novità presenti sull’app Google Home, in particolare la nuova funzione Network Insight utile a capire quando e perché la velocità di internet subisce una riduzione.
Detto questo non ci molte novità in termini di specifiche hardware, probabilmente perché il modello precedente andava già molto bene e Google ha deciso di concentrarsi sul design, oltre a ridurre il prezzo.
