Diablo 4 introduces many new features, including mounts, to its ARPG game for the first time. Mounts (or horses) can help you make your journey through Sanctuary a pleasant experience. However, obtaining the mounts requires the players to go through a chunk of the acts in Diablo 4. This article aims to help simplify the process of getting mounts in Diablo 4 easier. So, read on to learn how to get yourself a horse to make your journey across Sanctuary faster.
Steps to Get a Mount (Horse) in Diablo 4
Back during theDiablo 4 beta, we had limited information about how to get and use mounts. Fortunately, with the game’s release, we are now aware of the requirements to get mounts.
For the first time in the RPG series, Diablo features rideable mounts, which is a needed addition. After all, Diablo 4 features one big open world as compared to the different biomes across the various acts in the first game. Mounts make it easy to traverse this large open world and enjoy your time in the game.
To unlock mounts in Diablo 4, players need to start and finish a quest calledDonan’s Favor. This is apriority questthat players will unlock after they finish the first three acts in Diablo 4. Yeah, you can only unlock mounts in Act 4 of Diablo 4. Here’s how you go about it:
How to Customize Mounts in Diablo 4
Once you open up the stable to access your mounts in Diablo 4, there are certain things you can do.
The main thing you can do iscustomize the appearance of your mounts. With the game having a battle pass and an in-game shop, it is no surprise that horse skins are a thing. This brings us back full circle from the time when the gaming industry made fun of Bethesda for making horse armor DLC a thing for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to paying 8 dollars for horse cosmetics in Diablo 4.
You can change how your horses look and put armor on them at the stables. These items are strictly cosmetic and do not provide any value to fights in-game.
The other thing you can do isput trophies on the mounts. This feature was confirmed from the beta, as people who successfully killed Ashava in the server slam received the trophy to put on their horse. Currently, we do not have any methods to receive trophies in the game, but we can assume that killing the many world bosses in-game might provide us with one.
Diablo 4: List of Mount Skills
During the first gameplay reveal, the existence of mounts was confirmed. At the same time, Blizzard also showed the mounts in action and how they tie into fights. The trailer showed the three classes – Sorceror, Druid, and Barbarian landing off of the mount mid-journey to deal damage to the enemies.
We can now confirm after the game launch that players can use a unique attack against enemies when they are on a mount. This skill has a 10-second cooldown, and each respective class has a different animation and attack pattern from the horses. These are what each of the five classes can do:
So that’s everything you need to know about mounts in Diablo 4. We will update this guide once we learn more about horse cosmetics and trophies in the upcoming seasons.
