X (Twitter) Is Finally Bringing Back Article Headlines!
Ever since the Twitter takeover by Elon Musk, the highly renowned tech entrepreneur has been makingdrastic changesto the platform. Recently, Elon Musk has confirmed that X (formerly Twitter) will receiveyet another updateto revert back to a previous change he had made.
Musk, who owns X, has posted on the platform talking about the new change. Article headlines are finally coming back! Elon expressed his desire to improve the aesthetics by removing the headlines entirely. However, this was not a well-received change. In an upcoming release, š will overlay title in the upper potion of the image of a URL cardā Elon Musk (@elonmusk)November 23, 2023

Now, the X platform willoverlay article titlesin theupper portionof their featured images. Overall, it seems like it will be less intrusive than how it previously used to look. We will soon know how exactly this change will come into effect. Instead of article headlines appearing below or on top of the featured image, they will be present inside the image itself in the form of an overlay.
What Happened To Article Headlines on X (Formerly Twitter)?
In late August 2023, Elon Muskremovedarticle headlines from the URLs inserted in posts (aka tweets) on X. This caused confusion because less context was provided to readers about any given link. As you can see from the post (via@xDaily), the new change was quite confusing.Example via@yasharof what the new design could look like.Left: CurrentRight: New design (projected)pic.twitter.com/tnA69PP2Mjā X News Daily (@xDaily)August 22, 2023

Elon Musk himself said that this change is coming from him directly. Supposedly, the aesthetics were to become āgreatly improvedā with the new change. However, it did not really do much apart from resulting in more confusion and people trolling each other.
Thankfully, with the new update, things should be back to normal soon. Hopefully, we will see less drastic changes to the platform moving into the future of thistakeover. What are your thoughts on X changing its functionality on article headlines? Let us know in the comments below.
